Supported Employment

Our employment specialists work with employment service providers to make sure you have access to the best employment opportunities possible. If paid employment positions are not successful, we work directly with you or your loved one to find a solution. Our employment specialists also work with housing and other non-medical support services to enable greater community inclusion and ensure total personal care.

  • FPS serves Buncombe, Alexander, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Caldwell, Henderson, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Watauga, Wilkes and Yancey counties
  • MBHS serves Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Jackson, Macon, Madison, Swain and Transylvania counties
  • RHA serves Buncombe and McDowell counties

(FYI-This county responsibility may change beginning fiscal year 2017-2018 or July 1, 2017)

The service can be a stand alone or combined with another provider or service such as CST, SAIOP, Med. Mgt. etc.. However, ACT is the lone exception that this service can not be combined with due to ACT having a Vocational Specialist on staff and are responsible for providing these services.

Referrals need to be completed and sent securely via email to the Team Leader identified in the attachment. It is preferable but not mandatory to attach a current DSMV compliant Comprehensive Clinical Assessment with Supported Employment as a Recommendation Of Services or an addendum to the CCA with SE as a ROS and/or PCP with revisions.
