Access to Care
How do I get help in an addiction or mental health crisis?
If you or a loved one is dealing with addiction, Vaya is here to help. Call 1-800-849-6127 any time, 24/7, to find help where you live. Our Access to Care line is staffed by qualified professionals to get you the help you need when you need it. Our trained specialists are available to help in emergency situations. Vaya Health specialists can also make an appointment with a behavioral health center or addiction treatment center near you.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger of physical harm, call 911.
Most addiction and mental health crises do not require a visit to the emergency room. However, you can always access mental health services and substance abuse treatment in the following ways:
If you already have a mental health service provider (like a counselor or psychiatrist), call your provider to talk about what you are experiencing.
If you cannot reach your provider or you do not have one, and if the crisis is occurring during regular weekday business hours, visit a Comprehensive Care Center. Comprehensive Care Centers provide same-day, walk-in services. This includes a health assessment, recommendations for future treatment, and information about mental health services and substance abuse treatment centers near you.
If you need assistance at night or on a weekend, or if you do not have transportation, call your Mobile Crisis Management Team. The Mobile Crisis Management Team is available 24/7 to provide immediate mental health help wherever you are. The Mobile Crisis Management Team is a free service, with or without insurance.
