Life stress and adverse events can have a lasting effect on a child\u2019s development. For youth in foster care, the challenges around coordinating services and supports across multiple systems adds a layer of complexity that can negatively impact them, their families, and those working to help.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"gb-text\">What is Pathways to Permanency?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Pathways to Permanency program<\/strong> is an initiative designed to align the work of the child welfare and public behavioral health systems. Through cross-system collaboration, the project aims to improve outcomes for child welfare-involved youth and their families, as well as the professionals who serve them. Representatives from Vaya Health, local Department of Social Services (DSS) offices, mental health providers, and other stakeholders meet regularly to map out feasible, sustainable solutions to real issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-5c1e54c7\">\n\n<h3 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-8481b74d gb-headline-text\">Our goal for pathways to permanency<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of the Pathways to Permanency program is to provide a clear, supportive path for youth in foster care on their journey to permanency. Resources developed through work groups were vetted by professionals across the child welfare and public behavioral health systems. The materials are available for anyone to use and may be accessed through this website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"gb-text\"><strong>What is permanency?<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Permanency means finding a forever home for a child in foster care.
