Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. This 8- hour training gives you skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use concern or crisis and help connect them to appropriate care. Mental Health First Aid covers ways to combat stigma, de-escalate a crisis, and how to reach out and support someone who may be having thoughts of suicide.
This training is done virtually and requires a 2 hour self-study course as a pre-requisite to attend the training.
