Home and community-based services (HCBS) provide opportunities for community integration, enabling Medicaid enrollees to obtain services in their community. Vaya Health, along with North Carolina’s other local management entities/managed care organizations (LME/MCOs) provide 1915(i) services, which offer a critical set of HCBS to Medicaid enrollees with significant behavioral health needs and intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). When Vaya Total Care (our Tailored Plan) launches, the state will expand the populations eligible for some of these important services.
