Vaya Health Plans
Vaya Health supports the well-being of North Carolinians through Medicaid and State-funded health plans. Learn more about services that may be available to you.
Vaya Total Care is Medicaid coverage that includes physical health care, behavioral health services, and pharmacy benefits in a single, integrated health plan – more commonly known as whole-person care. Whole-person care combines care for the mind and body with other factors that affect a person’s health. Your doctor, other providers, and care manager work together to help you get the care you need to be healthy.
State-funded services are for people who live in the Vaya region and do not have insurance, or who need certain services that are not available to them in their health plan and cannot afford care. State-funded services are for mental health, substance use, I/DD, and TBI. They do not include physical health care or pharmacy benefits. State-funded services are funded by state, federal, and county governments outside of Medicaid.
Direct
NC Medicaid Direct is a health care program for Medicaid beneficiaries who are not enrolled in managed care. Vaya manages mental health, substance use, I/DD, and TBI services for people in our region who are in NC Medicaid Direct, while the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services manages their physical health care and pharmacy services.
