High Country Senior Games

High Country Senior Games – one of 53 local games as part of the North Carolina Senior Games – is a non-profit organization serving seniors 50 years of age or better in Ashe, Avery, Mitchell, Watauga, Alleghany, Wilkes and Yancey Counties, dedicated to improving the quality of life of seniors through friendship, fellowship, fun, and fitness. High Country Senior Games offers over 50 athletic, arts, and social events. Athletic events include but not limited to bocce, bowling, fun walks, golf, horseshoes, pickleball, swimming, tennis, and track and field; arts submissions may include literary, performing, contemporary, heritage, and visual arts. A few socials hosted by High Country Senior Games include a kick-off breakfast, lunch at select competitions, and a banquet towards the conclusion of our games. There is something here for everyone! These activities are available to all participants 50 years of age or better no matter skill level or ability.
