Youth Mental Health First Aid

In this 8 hour course, participants will learn a five step action plan to help a young person who is experiencing distress due to mental health or substance use. This is designed for anyone who is working with youth. Teachers, school staff, camp counselors, coaches, and parents will all learn how to connect with youth needing support and how to de-escalate youth who may be in crisis. Participants will receive a YMHFA manual. This is a private event for Asheville City Schools. Please email community.education@vayahealth.com for questions about this or other trainings.
