Rhonda Cox

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Rhonda Cox is a veteran in healthcare design and delivery for people with behavioral health and I/DD needs. As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Cox oversees a range of programs that address health needs and other factors that affect overall wellbeing. Under her leadership, the Population Health Division delivers care management/care coordination, clinical strategies, member and provider call center services, provider network operations, provider education, interventions to address social determinants of health, and deinstitutionalization and housing.

Cox has more than 20 years of experience spanning across corporate operations, strategy, learning and development, and service delivery. Her knowledge and expertise were instrumental in the design and organizational implementation of Vaya’s approach to whole person care and the organization’s groundbreaking care management model, Vaya Total Care. Cox has been pivotal in multiple consolidation efforts, facilitating organizational expansion and demonstrating a strong commitment to public managed care.

An accomplished public speaker and public health advocate, Cox has delivered presentations at state and national conferences and is a member of the North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities. She is a North Carolina licensed psychological associate, having earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Appalachian State University.
